Mr. Takunda Shabani has diverse professional experience in the field of environmental management. He worked as an Environmental Health Technician at ST Theresa’s Hospital in Zimbabwe from January to December 2018, where he gained hands-on experience in managing environmental health issues. Since April 2022, he has been serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Geography, Environmental Sustainability, and Resilience Building at Midlands State University. In this role, he contributes to academic instruction and supports research initiatives, leveraging his expertise in waste management, environmental pollution and control, sustainable environmental management and development, environmental research and education, natural resource conservation, and occupational safety and health management.
Research Interests:
Mr. Takunda Shabani’s research interests are centered on sustainable environmental management and development. He is particularly focused on waste management, with a specific interest in creating integrated frameworks for sustainable solid waste management in rural hospital settings, as reflected in his current MPhil thesis work. Additionally, he is passionate about environmental pollution and control, exploring methods to mitigate the impact of pollutants on natural ecosystems. Mr. Shabani is also dedicated to advancing environmental research and education, aiming to contribute to the knowledge base and foster environmental awareness. His interests extend to natural resource conservation and occupational safety and health management, where he seeks to develop strategies that promote both environmental sustainability and the well-being of communities.
