Mr. Bantayehu Addis brings a wealth of professional experience in the field of pharmacology and pharmacy. With over five years of experience working as a Pharmacist at Dejen Health Center and Debre Markos Comprehensive Specialized Hospital, he has demonstrated his expertise in providing pharmaceutical care and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for patients. During his tenure, he served as a Pharmacy Store Manager, overseeing inventory management and procurement processes, and later assumed the role of Focal Person of Inpatient Pharmacy, where he played a key role in optimizing medication management within the hospital setting. Furthermore, Mr. Addis has been actively engaged in academia, serving as a lecturer in Pharmacology and Clinical Toxicology at Debre Markos University since October 2017. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he has been involved in community service, project work, and research endeavors, contributing significantly to the advancement of pharmaceutical education and practice in Ethiopia. His dedication to professional development and leadership qualities were further evident when he assumed the position of Pharmacology and Clinical Toxicology Chair, demonstrating his ability to lead and coordinate academic activities within his department.

Mr. Bantayehu Addis’s research interests lie at the intersection of pharmacology, medicinal plants, and clinical pharmacy, with a focus on exploring the therapeutic potential of natural products in managing various diseases. He is particularly interested in investigating the pharmacological properties of medicinal plants indigenous to Ethiopia, aiming to identify novel therapeutic agents for conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and infectious ailments. Additionally, Mr. Addis is passionate about conducting clinical research to optimize medication therapy and improve patient outcomes, with a specific interest in pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and drug interactions. Furthermore, he is keen on exploring the role of traditional medicine in healthcare delivery and the integration of complementary and alternative therapies into conventional medical practice. Through his research endeavors, Mr. Addis aspires to contribute to the advancement of evidence-based pharmacotherapy and promote the rational use of medications for the benefit of patients in Ethiopia and beyond.
