Mr. Endrias Yisihak is a PhD Candidate in English Language Teaching (ELT) at AAU since September 2019. He holds an MA in TEFL from AAU completed between September 2008 and July 2010, a B.Ed in English Language Teaching from Alemaya University (now Haromaya University) obtained between September 2001 and July 2004, and a high school certificate at Areka Senior Secondary School from September 1997 to July 2000. His primary education took place at Bele Primary School from September 1988 to July 1996. He is fluent in English and Amharic, with basic knowledge in Dawuro and Wolaitato. Mr. Yisihak has worked as an English Language Teacher, Instructor, Dean of Students, Chair of the Purchasing Team, and Head of the Department of Basic Sciences at various institutions. Currently, he serves as an Instructor at Shiloh International Theological Seminary and Hawassa University, where he is on study leave for his PhD. Mr. Endrias Yisihak has extensive experience in the field of education, with a strong focus on English Language Teaching (ELT) and leadership roles. He started his career as an English Language Teacher at Waka Secondary Preparatory School, where he honed his teaching skills and contributed to the development of students’ language proficiency. Subsequently, he served as an Instructor at Tabor College of Teacher Education, gaining valuable experience in instructional methods and curriculum design.

His career then progressed to roles of greater responsibility at Hawassa College of Health Science, where he held positions such as Instructor, Dean of Students, Chair of the Purchasing Team, and Head of the Department of Basic Sciences. In these roles, Mr. Yisihak demonstrated leadership qualities, managed administrative tasks effectively, and contributed to the overall academic and operational success of the college.

Continuing his journey in academia, Mr. Yisihak took on the role of Teacher Educator and Common Courses Coordinator at Hawassa College of Teacher Education, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the educational programs and ensuring quality teaching practices.

Currently, Mr. Yisihak serves as an Instructor at Shiloh International Theological Seminary (formerly Shiloh Bible College Ethiopia) since July 2010, where he continues to impart knowledge and mentor students in various subjects related to theology and education.

Furthermore, he is pursuing his PhD in English Language Teaching (ELT) at AAU since September 2019, showcasing his dedication to continuous learning and professional development in the field of education.

Research Interest:

Mr. Endrias Yisihak’s research interests encompass various aspects of English Language Teaching (ELT) and educational development. He is particularly interested in exploring innovative teaching methods and strategies to enhance early grade reading skills among primary school students. Additionally, he is keen on investigating the preparedness of Ethiopian early grade English teachers in effectively teaching basic reading skills. His research also delves into areas such as curriculum design, teacher training, and pedagogical approaches aimed at improving English language proficiency among learners. Furthermore, Mr. Yisihak is interested in educational leadership, with a focus on effective management practices in academic institutions to promote quality education and student success.
