Professional Experience:
Islam Adra is an accomplished professional with over 15 years of expertise in health, safety, and environment (HSE) leadership roles. He is currently the Founder and Principal of Accredited Solutions, where he developed the Care2Lead leadership program and offers global consulting services to enhance organizational culture and leadership. His work includes creating impactful VR safety training content used by major corporations such as BP, Shell, GE, Chevron, and ConocoPhillips.
From May 2021 to September 2022, Islam served as the Head of HSE for Rio Tinto in British Columbia. In this role, he led a team of over 25 professionals, managed complex stakeholder relationships, and significantly improved safety metrics during a critical culture transformation and plant restart program. Prior to that, as the Regional SSHE Manager for WEIR Oil & Gas from February 2020 to May 2020, he devised strategies that boosted HSE engagement by 6% and reduced the total incident rate to zero.
Islam’s extensive experience also includes his tenure as Regional HSE Manager for Fortive, where from February 2016 to February 2020, he improved the HSE reporting rate by 300% and maintained an outstanding safety record, earning the ExxonMobil HSE Award in 2017. Earlier in his career, he worked at Rio Tinto Alcan as Corporate HSEQ Manager for the Middle East, maintaining an impeccable safety record and implementing comprehensive management systems certified to international standards.
