Dr. Chuka Ononye, originally from Onitsha, Nigeria, is a faculty member at the Department of English & Literary Studies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). He holds active memberships in various professional associations such as the International Pragmatics Association (IPrA), Pragmatics Association of Nigeria (PrAN), Association of Internet Researchers (AoIR), and Poetics and Linguistics Association (PALA). Dr. Ononye’s research interests span discourse analysis, pragmatics, stylistics, and critical linguistics, with a particular focus on conflict/violence and peace discourses in both literary and non-literary texts. He has received fellowships from the Social Science Research Council (SSRC) in New York and Zentrum Moderner Orient (ZMO) in Berlin, in addition to being honored with two research grants from the Nigerian Government’s TETFUND. His academic contributions include numerous papers published in reputable journals such as Language and Literature, International Journal of Literary Linguistics, Discourse Studies, and others worldwide.
