In 2019, she also completed a course in university pedagogy at OsloMet University, enhancing her teaching skills. Additionally, Safora has pursued education in health and social administration and leadership at Folkeuniversitet, Asker, in 1997-1998. Her academic pursuits reflect a deep commitment to advancing her knowledge and expertise in the field of health sciences and radiation physics.

Safora Johansen has been actively involved in teaching and educational activities, contributing her expertise to various institutions and courses. Simultaneously, she holds a position as a Senior Researcher at Oslo University Hospital (OUH), focusing on shared decision-making and collaborative care research. Safora’s academic journey includes a Postdoctoral position at OUH from 2009 to 2011 and a Research Assistant role from 2002 to 2006. Prior to her academic roles, Safora worked as a Radiographer, Radiation Technologist, Lecturer, and Scientific Advisor at OUH, OsloMet, and the Radiographer Society from 1994 to 2002. Recently, in 2023, Safora joined the Singapore Institute of Technology as an Associate Professor, further expanding her academic reach and impact.

Fellowships and Grants:

Safora Johansen has been the recipient of several fellowships and grants in the last five years, demonstrating her commitment to research and education in the field of health sciences and radiation physics. In 2019, she secured a 50% PhD position at OsloMet for a duration of six years, from 2019 to 2025. Prior to this, Safora also held a 50% PhD position at OsloMet and Oslo University Hospital (OUS) from 2014 to 2018. Safora has also been involved in various research projects funded by external organizations. In 2021, she received a grant of NOK 3,000,000 from The Directorate for Higher Education and Competence (Hk-dir) for a project titled “Sustainable radiography education and collaboration.” Additionally, she received grants from the International Cooperation and Quality Enhancement in Higher Education (DiKU) in 2017 for projects collaborating with Canada and South Africa on establishing and developing professional collaboration in radiography. Furthermore, Safora has been involved in project collaborations with various Canadian universities and healthcare centers, receiving a grant of NOK 300,000 from DiKU in 2019 for this purpose. She has also received funding from Oslo Metropolitan University for a Clinical practice project in 2017.
