Debashrita Dey is a Ph.D. Research Scholar (Senior Research Fellow) currently pursuing her doctoral studies at the Indian Institute of Technology, Patna. Her research interests primarily focus on gender studies, literature, and cinema, with a specific emphasis on exploring narratives surrounding female ageing and subjective embodiment in select literary and cinematic works in India. Debashrita holds a Master of Arts degree in English from Banaras Hindu University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English (Honors) from St. Xavier’s College, University of Calcutta. With teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant at the Indian Institute of Technology, Patna, she has contributed to courses covering Communication Skills for Engineers, Gender and Women Studies, Gender and Cinema, and Diasporic Literature. Through her academic pursuits, Debashrita aims to deepen the understanding of gender dynamics and societal perceptions in Indian culture while promoting critical discourse and gender equity.
