Mr. Nigus Tsegaye has professional experience in forestry research, land administration, and environmental protection. He has worked as a Researcher and Process Representative at the Ethiopian Environment and Forest Research Institution in Jimma Center since April 2021. Additionally, he served as a Coordinator of Cadaster and Surveying at the Wucale District Land Administration and Environmental Protection Office in Oromia Regional State from November 2017 to November 2018. Prior to that, he worked as an Expert of Land Use and Operation Planning at the same office from February 2013 to November 2017.

Research Interest:

Mr. Nigus Tsegaye’s research interests include forestry research, land use planning, environmental protection, and Geographic Information System (GIS) applications in natural resource management. He is particularly interested in studying sustainable land management practices, biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation strategies, and the integration of remote sensing technologies in forestry and environmental monitoring. Additionally, he aims to explore the role of community participation and stakeholder engagement in natural resource governance and develop innovative approaches for sustainable land use and conservation.
