Mr. Nega Jibat is an Associate Professor of Sociology and Criminology at Jimma University, Ethiopia, where he has been a member of the academic staff since 2007. He holds an MA in Sociology of Health and Well-being (2011) and a BA in Sociology and Social Anthropology (2005), both from Addis Ababa University. His research interests include the study of vulnerable groups such as children, women, youth, the elderly, and the poor, as well as health and well-being, criminal and victimization behavior, migration, diaspora, safety, gender, and education. In his professional journey, Mr. Nega has served in various academic and administrative roles at Jimma University, including Head of the Department of Sociology and Social Work, and has been actively involved in consultancy services for governmental and non-governmental organizations. He is currently an Advisory Board Member of the Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia, South West Area Office, and holds leadership positions in several professional and community organizations.
