She is particularly interested in exploring the dynamics of female participation in various socio-political processes, with a focus on understanding the challenges and opportunities for women in conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and political engagement. Additionally, she is intrigued by the role of customary institutions in managing and transforming conflicts, especially in diverse ethnic settings. Ms. Major is also interested in investigating the impact of social media on academic performance and its implications for higher education in Ethiopia. Overall, her research endeavors aim to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in these areas and to inform policy and practice for fostering sustainable development, peace, and social inclusion in Ethiopia and beyond.
