Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tafano Labiso has a robust educational background, beginning with his early education at local institutions in Ethiopia. He obtained a Diploma in Educational Administration from Addis Ababa University in 1997, followed by a BA in Educational Planning and Management from the same university in 2005. Driven by his passion for advancing in the field of education, Dr. Labiso earned his MA in Educational Leadership and Management from Addis Ababa University in 2009. To further enhance his academic and professional expertise, he completed a Ph.D. in Education Management from the University of South Africa in 2021. Additionally, he has pursued various certifications, including a 2023 certificate on supervision capacity for MA and Ph.D. candidates from the University of South Africa, reflecting his ongoing commitment to academic excellence and leadership in education.
Professional Experience:
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tafano Labiso has accumulated over 14 years of teaching experience at Wolaita Sodo University, where he has played a pivotal role in both academic and administrative capacities. He served as Dean of Students for two years and was the Country Coordinator for the Fulbright Hays Curriculum Development Project in Ethiopia. Dr. Labiso has been the Coordinator of Institutional Quality Assurance at the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences for more than two terms and has held key positions such as Secretary of DC, DGC, and AC at Wolaita Sodo University. His experience also includes being the principal of secondary schools for over five years and leading the Higher Diploma Program (HDP) for four years. As a course instructor, he has taught BA students for more than 14 years and Ph.D. students since 2022. Additionally, Dr. Labiso has advised numerous MA and Ph.D. candidates, served as a reviewer for journal articles, and contributed to the development of several institutional guidelines and manuals. His leadership roles extend to being the Academic Vice Dean of the College of Education and chairing various committees.
